After completing the training, peers will have the knowledge and skills to provide support to members, have a basic understanding of common behavioral health issues affecting first responders, be able to serve as a bridge to community resources or behavioral health treatment when indicated, and
After completing the IAFF Peer Support Training, participants will have the necessary knowledge and skills to provide support to their peers; educate brothers and sisters about behavioral health issues such as PTSD and resilience; serve as a bridge to behavioral health programs and community resources; and build or enhance their peer support programs.
